I have been living in Meadview for more than a year.  It's not Carmel Valley, Black Mountain or Cuyamaca, but I like it a lot.  It's
beautiful and remote.
Meadview is high desert.  We are only ten miles from Lake Mead, near the east end and close to the Grand Canyon.  The approach
to "Grand Canyon West" is not far from here.  I went out there recently, not long after the grand opening of the "Skywalk."  I took
some pictures while I was there.  It's a beautiful spot and an impressive piece of engineering.  I wish the tribe great success in this
venture.
I had been out here a number of times before I moved to this neck of the desert.  I used to come here with friends to hike and rock
climb in the mountainous region between Meadview and South Cove.  I fell in love with the area, so when I got the chance to buy some
property here, I jumped at it.
Now I am living out here in a new home on one of the lots that I purchased.  I still have three vacant lots.  If you click on
Meadview,
Arizona, you can see some pictures of these places and the views that come with them.
When I bought the four properties that I now own, they were almost the only vacant lots available in Meadview.  Things have
changed somewhat since then.  Construction of the bridge that will bypass Hoover Dam is slated for completion in a couple of years.
This will make the commute from Northern Arizona to Las Vegas, Nevada more feasible for many who work in the big city but long to
live beneath the clear skies in the open spaces of Arizona.
Already property values have soared, and many vacant lots, as well as expensive homes, are back on the market.  Huge subdivisions
are planned close to the new bridge.  That entire area promises to become a suburban bedroom community for Las Vegas.
A lot of folks are willing to drive a little bit further to get away from the sprawl and the crowds.  Meadview waits at the end of the road,
a haven snuggled up against the boundaries of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
I realize that I can't hold on to all of these pieces of beautiful property forever.  I'm really content in my new home right now.
Someday I might choose to build on one of the other lots, but that still leaves two that I will never need.  The time has come to share my
good fortune.
To this end I have priced my three vacant bits of paradise below the average asking price.  Someone is going to get, as I have, a
really good deal, and a beautiful place for a new home.
